Paul Lambert pleased with Aston Villa's cup win

Paul Lambert says he is pleased with Aston Villa's win over Rotherham United and praises their "brilliant" football.

Paul Lambert has expressed his delight after seeing his Aston Villa side beat Rotherham United 3-0 in the Capital One Cup.

The home side had a comfortable evening with goals from Andreas Weimann, Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph securing a third-round match against Tottenham Hotspur.

"Some of the football was excellent. The third goal - the one-touch football was brilliant," he told Sky Sports News.

"Cup football is a difficult thing because you can play against a small team and they are a totally different animal to what you are used to playing in the league. But we handled it well."

Villa's tie against Spurs will be played at Villa Park.
