West Ham United 'lining up £20m bid for Arsenal's Jack Wilshere'

West Ham United are reportedly lining up a surprise summer swoop for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

The Hammers are ready to offer £20m for the injury-prone England international, according to the ​Brentwood Gazette.

Wilshere is on the verge of returning to action following a lengthy injury layoff that has kept him sidelined since last May.

England boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that the 24-year-old remains in his Euro 2016 plans, despite his lack of game time and match fitness.

West Ham, who lie in fifth place in the Premier League table, one point away from the Champions League positions, will move into the 60,000-capacity Olympic Stadium this summer.
