Lyon president: 'Alexandre Lacazette staying put this summer'

Alexandre Lacazette will not be leaving Lyon this summer despite heavy interest from elsewhere, according to club president Jean Michel Aulas.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has ruled out cashing in on star striker Alexandre Lacazette, amid talk that a number of top European clubs are ready to pounce.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in recent days following a fruitful season that saw him bag 21 goals in Ligue 1 - behind only Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the scoring stakes.

It has been claimed that Lyon are holding out for a bid higher than £40m but, according to Aulas, the French outfit have no intention of selling Lacazette while he still has three years left to run on his current contract.

"We have had a few calls, but Alexandre will stay," he told Canal+. "I think it is his desire [to stay] and the coach counts on him."

Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have also been tipped with making a fresh move for Lacazette, who has 75 goals to his name in total over the past three seasons.
