Lennon confirms Arsenal interest in Tierney

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has claimed that Arsenal must improve their opening offer if they wish to sign Kieran Tierney.

The defender has been strongly linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal look to strengthen in the full-back area.

The Gunners have allegedly failed with a bid in the region of £18m, and Lennon has suggested that the Premier League outfit are not close to meeting Celtic's valuation.

Lennon is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "Arsenal are aware of what we value the player at. He is on a long-term contract, he is an asset and we don't want to sell him.

"It is going to take a lot more than what they have offered the first time around to give us a decision to make."

Tierney, a boyhood Celtic supporter, still has four years left on his contract with the Scottish Premiership champions.
