Inter Milan look to challenge Arsenal for Bolton’s Gary Cahill

Inter Milan are prepared to fight off Arsenal for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in January.

The 25-year-old was the subject of transfer speculation during the summer following unsuccessful bids from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite remaining at the Reebok Stadium, manager Owen Coyle is convinced that the England international will be pursued in the January transfer window.

While the Gunners are reportedly still interested in the defender, Italian side Inter Milan are also prepared to launch a bid in three months’ time, according to the Daily Mail.

New Inter coach Claudio Ranieri has suggested that strengthening his side’s defence is a priority this season.
