Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly assured of his England spot by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate after impressing since his return from injury.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly been assured of his spot in the England squad after impressing for the Gunners since returning from a leg injury.

Wilshere made his first Premier League appearance for 14 months last Sunday as he came on as a substitute in Arsenal's 5-2 defeat of Everton.

The 25-year-old assist in that fixture has consolidated an impressive return to action for Arsene Wenger's side, with Wilshere also making two appearances in the Europa League.

According to the Daily Mail, England boss Gareth Southgate has assured the 25-year-old of his place in the national side.

The Three Lions were heavily criticised for failing to break down a stubborn Lithuania defence in their final World Cup qualifier earlier this month, and Wilshere could be the creative midfielder that England currently lack.

Southgate's side, who qualified for the World Cup with their 1-0 win over Slovenia, have international friendlies against Germany and Brazil scheduled for November.
