Wenger: 'Premier League like a jungle'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that "everyone wants to eat" his side due to the jungle-like nature of the Premier League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warned his players to avoid becoming too complacent in the Premier League as it is like 'living in a jungle'.

The Gunners take on Middlesbrough at the Emirates Stadium this weekend looking to maintain their winning run, which currently stands at seven games in all competitions.

Wenger is wary that his side now have a target on their back as a result of their positive run of form, however, and warns that a lack of focus against the struggling visitors could result in his side slipping from the chasing pack at the top.

"I believe humility is to understand that you start again from zero," he told reporters. "We live in a jungle where everyone wants to eat you - you have to survive by keeping your vigilance. That's what competition is about."

Arsenal start the weekend second in the league table, level on points with Manchester City but with a slightly inferior goal difference.
