Thierry Henry demands more from Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says that he expects more from Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez if they want a pay-rise at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has said that he wants a hat-trick from Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez every week if they want the club to break their wage structure to give them new contracts.

Both Ozil and Sanchez have just 18 months remaining on their existing deals at the Emirates Stadium and it has been claimed that they both want pay rises in order to sign another deal in North London.

However, while highlighting the importance of both players, Henry has demanded more from the two attackers after they failed to inspire the Gunners against either Everton or Manchester City, games which they lost 2-1.

The 39-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Those two players are vital for the future of the club, they have to secure that deal but to what extent? I don't know if Arsene is going to pay those numbers. But if they don't sign, who are you going to bring after that? What's the future?

"At the moment they are holding the club hostage. They are amazing but if they are on that amount of money, I want a hat-trick every week – and also when there's no game!

"You need to be in a situation where you've won something already for the club to ask for that amount of money."

Arsenal sit nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea in the Premier League table.
