Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn not worried about Eddie Howe amid Arsenal link

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn says that he expects Eddie Howe to remain at the club, despite reports linking the young manager to Arsenal.

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has claimed that he expects Eddie Howe to remain as manager for the next "two or three years" amid rumours of Arsenal interest.

Newspaper reports emerged today claiming that Howe has been lined up as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger, who will come to the end of his contract next summer.

Howe has been linked to West Ham United and the England manager's job in the last few years, but he has remained with the Cherries to guide them from League One to the Premier League.

The 38-year-old has had two spells in charge of the south coast club, spanning seven years so far, and Mostyn believes that Howe will make sure that he has built a legacy before moving on.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Mostyn said: "We have a man of immense talent and any man of talent, whatever business you are in, is always going to be sought after. We see that very much as a compliment.

"But Eddie is a Bournemouth boy through and through. He has been with the football club since he was ten. There is unfinished business. He wants to ensure that if and when he does move on he will leave a legacy. A legacy that will ensure AFC Bournemouth are a Premier League side, not a side that is aspiring to retain its position every year.

"He has made it clear that over the next two or three years hopefully we can establish ourselves as a thoroughbred Premier League side and only then would he consider moving on."

Howe's only other managerial spell was at Burnley, where he spent 21 months in charge.
