Hector Bellerin relishing Arsenal expectation

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin says that he is enjoying the pressure of establishing himself as the club's first-choice right-back.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has stated that he is looking forward to the challenge of establishing himself as the club's first-choice right-back.

The 20-year-old broke into the side last season following injuries to Mathieu Debuchy and has continued to keep the Frenchman out so far this term, starting seven of the Gunners' eight Premier League games.

Bellerin has admitted that his Arsenal teammates and the club's supporters will be expecting more of him this season.

"At the beginning of the first season, you don't have that pressure to perform at 100 per cent because it is always hard when you first start," he told the London Evening Standard.

"But now, in the second season, people are expecting big things from you so you can't disappoint them. You have to play your 'A' game in every single match and that is a good thing.

"I'm confident, I know that I can play and you know that all the experience always plays in your favour. You've got both sides of it — people saying that teams know how to stop you but you've got the confidence and the experience."

Bellerin has scored two goals in 37 appearances for Arsenal.
