Agent: 'Olivier Giroud could thrive at Napoli'

The agent of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes that his client would be interested in a move to Napoli amid speculation of a swap deal for Gonzalo Higuain.

The agent of Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has insisted that his client would fit in well at a club like Napoli.

Recent reports have suggested that the Gunners are considering a move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, which could also see Giroud move in the opposite direction.

Agent Michael Manuello stressed that there had been no hint of a possible exit so far, but does believe that Giroud would be able to adapt to life in Naples.

"If he was asked to leave, then we would evaluate his options," Manuello told Radio CRC.

"There is no fear from Olivier about possibly going to Napoli: it is a magnificent city. In Campania, my client could lead a wonderful life. Not to mention that the type of game played by [coach Maurizio] Sarri could enhance the quality of a centre forward like him.

"Olivier is an Arsenal player. So far there has not been any communication [with Arsenal] or contact with Napoli. If Arsenal tell us to leave, then things change."

Napoli have reportedly told Arsenal that they will need to trigger Higuain's release clause of around £80m to sign the Argentina international.
