Sports Mole's countdown of the 25 greatest Arsenal players in the Premier League continues with number 17 - Emmanuel Petit.

Having played under Arsene Wenger at AS Monaco, Emmanuel Petit reunited with his compatriot at Arsenal in 1997 and enjoyed immediate success alongside Patrick Vieira in a formidable midfield partnership.

The Gunners won the Premier League and FA Cup double in Petit's debut campaign at Highbury - just the second time they had achieved that feat in their history.

After winning the World Cup with France that summer, Petit went on to play for two more years at Arsenal before a brief spell at Barcelona, moving to the Camp Nou at the same time as Arsenal teammate Marc Overmars.

During his three-year stint at the club, Petit made 118 appearances and scored 11 goals across all competitions, including nine goals in 85 Premier League outings.
