Carlos Bacca: 'Paris Saint-Germain move fell through'

AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca reveals that Paris Saint-Germain wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window.

AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has revealed that he was in talks with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, but the move broke down due to the rules regarding registration of non-EU players.

The Colombian international, who was also linked with West Ham United and Arsenal, played under PSG boss Unai Emery at Sevilla and has described his close relationship with the Spaniard.

Bacca claims that the French champions tried to sign him before the start of the new season, but the deal could not be completed due to the limit on non-EU players, which PSG had already reached.

"Emery is the most important manager I've had during my career. The best one too," Bacca told Cadena Ser. "He has improved my performances, I always felt at ease with him, because he always trusted me.

"He's also a good friend of mine, maybe this is the secret of such an excellent relationship. I'd like to work with him again in the future. But I am only focused on AC Milan at the moment.

"PSG made a great choice appointing him. They also tried to sign me. There were contacts with my agents, but the deal collapsed as they had no slots available for non-EU players."

Bacca scored 49 times in 108 appearances for Sevilla under Emery before joining Milan last summer, and he hit 20 goals for the Serie A giants during his first season in Italian football.
