Tiger King star Joe Exotic is reportedly moved to a federal medical facility amid an "aggressive" cancer battle.

Tiger King star Joe Exotic has reportedly been moved to a federal medical facility as he fights "aggressive" prostate cancer.

The 58-year-old, who is a few years into a 22-year jail term for an alleged plot to kill rival Carole Baskin, revealed earlier this month that a biopsy had confirmed that he is suffering from cancer.

According to TMZ, the decision was made on Tuesday to transfer Exotic from prison in Fort Worth, Texas to to FMC Butner in North Carolina.

The new prison is renowned for its extensive medical facilities and includes a full hospital and cancer treatment facilities.

At present it is unclear whether Exotic's apparent transfer came about as a result of a worsening of his condition or as a precautionary measure.

The news comes just two days after the second season of Tiger King was released on Netflix.
