Jury yet to make decision in spot-fixing trial

The jury at Southwark Crown Court will deliver their verdict on the trial of two Pakistan cricketers alleged of match-fixing on Monday.

Two Pakistan cricketers are still awaiting their fate after the jury at Southwark Crown Court stated that they will deliver their verdict on alleged match-fixing charges on Monday.

Former test captain Salman Butt, 27, and Mohammed Asif, 28, have been accused of plotting to bowl deliberate no-balls in a Test last summer at Lord's.

The pair were charged after an undercover reporter recorded agent Mazhar Majeed boasting how he could arrange for Pakistan's players to rig games for money.

Prosecutors say that Butt and Asif conspired with young bowler Mohammed Amir to bowl three no-balls in last year's Test.

Butt and Asif have denied the claims, stating that they were approached by Majeed only to ignore the agent's requests.
