Four England players named in ICC team of the tournament

England have four players named in the ICC World Twenty20 Team of the Tournament after finishing as runners-up to the West Indies.

Four England players have been named in the ICC team of the tournament for the recent World Twenty20 in India.

England made it all the way to the final and looked to be on course to claim the title when they entered the last over with West Indies needing 19 to win, but four consecutive sixes from Carlos Brathwaite steered his side to victory in spectacular fashion.

Even so, England are the most represented nation in the team of the tournament, with Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jos Buttler and David Willey all earning selections.

Roy, Root and Buttler all impressed with the bat throughout the tournament, while Willey's performance in the final saw him finish level as the leading wicket-taker with ten.

Neither Marlon Samuels nor Brathwaite made the team despite their heroics in the final, with the champions only having two representatives in the form of Andre Russell and Samuel Badree.

Player of the tournament Virat Kohli is named as the captain of the side and is joined by compatriot Ashish Nehra, while Quinton de Kock, Shane Watson and Mitchell Santner make up the XI.

ICC's team of the tournament: J Roy (England), Q de Kock (South Africa, wicketkeeper), V Kohli (India, captain), J Root (England), J Buttler (England), S Watson (Australia), A Russell (West Indies), M Santner (New Zealand), D Willey (England), S Badree (West Indies), A Nehra (India). 12th man: M Rahman (Bangladesh)
