James Anderson replaces Stuart Broad at top of Test bowler rankings

Three five-wicket hauls against Sri Lanka have seen James Anderson jump above his England teammate Stuart Broad to top the ICC Test bowler rankings.

England's James Anderson has been named the top-ranked Test bowler in the world for the first time in his career.

The position was previously held by Anderson's teammate Stuart Broad.

However, the 33-year-old's figures in the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, which include three five-fors, have seen him jump to the summit.

Broad has actually dropped down a further place to third, with India's Ravichandran Ashwin now separating the two England seamers.
