Alvarez to defend WBC super-middleweight strap against Mosley

'Sugar' Shane Mosley has struck a deal that will see him fight WBC light-middleweight champion Saul Alvarez.

The bout will take place on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jnr's clash with Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 5.

Mosley, 40, has not won since stopping Antonio Margarito in the ninth round of their contest in 2009 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

The 21-year-old 'Canelo', from Mexico, will be looking to extend his record to 40 fights without defeat against the veteran.
