Livingston could miss up to eight weeks

Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston is expected to be out for between six and eight weeks following surgery on his right toe.

The AP reports that the player will have his right big toe in a splint for the first three weeks of his recovery, following arthroscopic surgery undertaken on Wednesday.

Livingston signed a three-year contract thought to be worth $16m (£9.5m) earlier in July, with the team being aware of a strained toe at the time.

Since re-evaluating his fitness last week, the team took the decision to suggest an operation.
