Dina Asher-Smith happy with performance in women's 200m final

Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith says that she 'cannot be disappointed" with fifth place in the women's 200m final.

Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith has said that she is happy with her performance in the women's 200m final after securing fifth place.

Asher-Smith only made it into the final as a fastest loser but she produced her best performance of the Games to finish just 0.16s outside of the medals.

The 20-year-old told BBC Sport: "I am really happy, especially after a shaky qualification. I think I still could have done a bit better but I can't be disappointed with that.

"It is a learning curve and hopefully I'll have more world championships and Olympics to get it right. I am just happy to be here, healthy and running close to my PB."

The race was won by Jamaica's Elaine Thompson, who completed a sprint double after also winning the 100m at the weekend.
