IAAF president Sebastian Coe: 'I'll fix anti-doping failures'

IAAF president Sebastian Coe insists that he can "fix" the doping issues in athletics as he is quizzed by the Culture, Media and Sport select committee.

IAAF president Sebastian Coe has insisted to the Culture, Media and Sport select committee that he is the man to "fix" the sport's doping problems.

The two-time Olympic champion was quizzed by a panel in Westminster for around three hours over the recent doping allegations in athletics.

The Russian Athletics Federation was recently provisionally suspended from all competitions after a World Anti-Doping Agency committee reported allegations of widespread doping, cover-ups and extortion.

During today's hearing, Coe said: "I have the experience to do that and I have the support of the sport. Have there been failures? Yes. Will I fix them? Yes.

"If I don't do that I know there will be no tomorrows in our sport. I want a responsible and accountable sport. I want a sport people can trust."

Coe was elected president of the world's athletics governing body in August this year.
