Italy's Oscar de Pellegrin wins men's individual recurve gold

Italy have clinched a Paralympic gold medal courtesy of Oscar de Pellegrin's victory in the men's individual recurve W1/W2.

The Italian managed to overcome Malaysia's Hasihin Sanawi 6-5 in a tense contest but De Pellegrin's strong start helped give him the advantage to finish off his competitor.

Tseng Lung Hui of Taipei faced a tough prospect in Iran's Ebrahim Ranjbarkivaj but he managed to take a substantial lead in the early stages.

A 7-3 win was enough to snatch the bronze medal and a place on the podium for Tseng.
