Jerry Jones: 'We do not need to pick a running back in 2015 Draft'

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is adamant that his side do not need to pick a running back in the 2015 Draft. despite the loss of DeMarco Murray in the off-season.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has insisted that the club do not need to select a running back to replace DeMarco Murray in the 2015 Draft.

Murray left the club in free agency to join the Philadelphia Eagles after an impressive 2014 campaign where he led the NFL in rushing yards.

The Cowboys signed Darren McFadden to their roster to offset the loss of Murray, and Jones has admitted that his side are not prioritising picking a back with one of their early selections in the Draft.

"It's not urgent. It's not urgent in the Draft," Jones told reporters. "We don't have that as a must to come out of here with a running back."

When asked if the club were comfortable starting the season with their current backs, Jones added: "Yes, if we had to. Yes. Again, is running back an area of interest position-wise? Certainly. Certainly it is. But my opinion is we could play with the running backs we've got right now and play well."

The Cowboys hold the 27th selection in the first round of the 2015 Draft.
