Result: Batista eliminates Roman Reigns to win Royal Rumble

Batista survives an impressive performance from Roman Reigns to win the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Batista will compete in the main event at Wrestlemania XXX after he won the 2014 Royal Rumble.

The returning superstar entered the 30-man battle royal at number 28, and after reaching the final two alongside Roman Reigns, he survived a spear from the Shield member to earn a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in April.

'The Animal' could now face Randy Orton, after the world title holder got the better of John Cena, who saw his challenge hindered by interference from Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt had earlier defeated Daniel Bryan in an intense encounter that opened the pay-per-view in Pittsburgh, while Brock Lesnar delivered a huge F5 to beat the Big Show.

On the Royal Rumble pre-show, the New Age Outlaws won the WWE tag-team titles after Billy Gunn pinned Cody Rhodes.
