WWE 'SmackDown' spoilers: Evolution to face The Shield

The main event for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view is revealed at this week's SmackDown tapings in Nashville.

Triple H has revealed that Evolution will face The Shield in a six-man tag-team match at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

The chief operating officer, alongside Randy Orton and Batista, reformed their stable to decimate The Shield on Monday Night Raw, and according to ProWrestling.net, the 'King of Kings' announced at this week's SmackDown tapings in Nashville that the two factions would go head to head on May 4.

Elsewhere on the show, which will be screened on Sky Sports on Friday night, Batista defeated Sheamus with a Batista bomb, while Alexander Rusev easily saw off the challenge of R-Truth.

Big E earned a win over Alberto Del Rio by disqualification, Santino Marella got the better of Fandango and Paige beat Aksana.
