Jake 'The Snake' Roberts reveals cancer battle

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, a 2014 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, reveals that he has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour behind his knee, with surgery expected on Tuesday.

WWE legend Jake 'The Snake' Roberts has announced that he has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour behind his knee.

The 58-year-old, who will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on WrestleMania weekend in April, is scheduled to have surgery to remove the growth, according to TMZ.

However, Roberts, who has previously battled drug and alcohol addiction, has insisted that the illness will not beat him.

"If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance in hell!" he is quoted as saying in a short statement. "Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease 'cause The Snake will be just fine."

Roberts's most recent WWE appearance was on Old School Raw on January 6.
