Togrul Asgarov claims Azerbaijan's fifth wrestling gold in Baku

Home favourite Togrul Asgarov overcame Italy's Frank Chamizo Marquez to become the men's 65kg freestyle wrestling champion at the European Games this afternoon.

The 22 year-old Azerbaijan fighter outclassed his Italian opponent, winning the final 5-0 to secure his country's fifth wrestling gold.

Chamizo Marquez reached the final after beating George Bucur, while Asgarov had been victorious over Azamat Nurykau.

Turkey's Mustafa Kaya beat George Bucur to win bronze, while Nurykau missed out on a medal to Russia's Ilias Bekbulatov.

Azerbaijan are currently second in the medals table behind Russian Federation.
