Great Britain beaten heavily by Serbia 21-7 in their second men's water polo match

Great Britain suffer a heavy 21-7 defeat to medal hopefuls Serbia in their second match in the men's water polo tournament.

Great Britain put up a brave fight but were heavily beaten 21-7 by a ruthless Serbia in their second match in the men's water polo tournament.

Medal favourites Serbia always represented a difficult match for the inexperienced Team GB side.

Team GB kept the game competitive early on and showed a marked improvement from their first group match, a 13-4 defeat to Romania.

Craig Figes was the team's standout performer, scoring a hat-trick to retain a sense of pride in a tough encounter.

Team GB have now lost their first two matches in Group B and will need to beat the United States on Sunday to retain any realistic chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
