Great Britain's women's volleyball team have given themselves a mountain to climb if they want to qualify from Pool A after losing in straight sets to world champions Italy.
The Brits pushed Italy all the way in the opening set, with their more illustrious opponents unable to take a substantial lead.
With one team having to win by two points after a score of 25, Britain finally faltered, eventually losing the first set 27-25.
The next set progressed in a more recognisable fashion, with Italy in control throughout, winning it 25-12.
The third and ultimately final set went a similar way, with the world champions once again running out 25-12 winners to move joint top of the group.
Italy are now level on points with Russia, while Great Britain sit fourth with two matches remaining.
