Brownlee to compete in 10,000 metres?

Olympic gold medallist Alistair Brownlee has suggested that he could take part in the 10,000 metres at the 2014 Commonwealth games.

The 24-year-old Brit secured triathlon gold by running the final 10,000 metres in 29 minutes and seven seconds – just 97 seconds slower than Mo Farah's gold medal-winning time.

Meanwhile, his time was just one second slower than British number two Chris Thompson, who finished in 25th place.

He told reporters that he "might give that a crack" in 2014 depending on how his training develops in the coming months.
