Great Britain's Paul Drinkhall causes an upset as he beats commonwealth champion Yang Zi in the second round of the men's table tennis.

Great Britain's Paul Drinkhall has caused an upset in the men's table tennis to qualify for the third round of the men's competition.

Drinkhall played brilliantly to defeat reigning men's Commonwealth champion Yang Zi of Singapore by four sets to one.

Winning the first three sets back-to-back with scores of 11-7, 11-7 and 11-8, the 22-year-old was in command from the outset.

Yang showed his class to fight back and take the fourth set 11-4, but could not stop Drinkhall taking a tight decider 11-9.

Drinkhall now advances to the third round on his Olympic debut.
