England's men and women have failed to qualify for the European Table Tennis Team Championships in Lisbon.

The male team suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Belgium in their last-eight match and then lost by the same scoreline to Slovenia.

Overall, the men finished 23rd after securing a 3-1 victory over Turkey, while the women's team succumbed to a 3-2 loss against Greece in their divisional quarter-final.

Despite the loss, the women went on to grab victories over Bulgaria and Slovenia, leaving them in 21st position overall.
