Tokyo 2020 - Luke Greenbank takes backstroke bronze

Team GB have secured yet another medal in the pool at the Tokyo Olympics as Luke Greenbank claimed bronze in the 200m backstroke event.

Russian swimmer Evgeny Rylov lived up to his hot favourite status as he set a new Olympic record of 1:53.27 to take the gold medal.

Greenbank, 23, kept himself in a podium position throughout the race but was pipped to silver by Ryan Murphy of the USA, who improved on his bronze from the 100m distance.

With three golds, a silver and a bronze, Team GB is now enjoying the best Olympics performance in the pool since the London Olympics of 1908.

After the 200m medley race, in which Duncan Scott will be hoping to add to his own haul of a gold and a silver in Tokyo, more medal opportunities await on Saturday and Sunday.
