Great Britain's Andrew Willis will fight for a medal in the 200m breaststroke final at the World Championships after coming through the semi-finals in Kazan.

Great Britain's Andrew Willis will fight for a medal in tomorrow's 200m breaststroke final at the World Championships in Kazan.

The 24-year-old qualified as fifth fastest overall after an impressive performance in the pool in tonight's decider.

In the first semi-final, Willis, who reached the final in the last two World Championships, placed second at the halfway stage.

The Brit continued to dominate and was able to sprint down the final 50m to touch the wall first in 2:08.72.

In the second semi-final, Japan's Koseki Yasuhiro chased the world-record time of 2:07.01, but he just missed out as he finished to qualify the fastest overall in 2:08.03.
