GB's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor claims World bronze in 200m medley

Great Britain's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor wins bronze, her first World medal, in the final of the 200m medley in Kazan, Russia.

Great Britain's Siobhan-Marie O'Connor has claimed a bronze medal in her first World Championships in the 200m individual medley in Kazan, Russia.

The 19-year-old Commonwealth champion was in second place after the first turn and stayed on the shoulder of Hungary's Katinka Hosszu.

However, the Brit dropped back to third after an impressive surge from Hosszu, who grabbed the gold medal in a world record time of 2:06.12.

O'Connor touched the wall in 2:08.45, while Japan's Kanako Watanabe took the silver medal and Britain's Hannah Miley claimed her best world result in this event by coming fifth in 2:10.19.
