Kindred disqualified in S6 50m freestyle

Sascha Kindred has been disqualified in the S6 50m freestyle final in what could be his last Paralympics race.

The reason for his disqualification is unclear, although it is likely to be due to too much movement from one of his legs; one still leg is a requirement of the S6 classification.

Xu Qing of China became the first S6 swimmer to go under 30 seconds in the sprint and he set a new world record of 29.90s on his way to gold.

Xu's compatriot Zheng Tao took silver with a time of 30.27s and Japan's Kyosuke Oyama stopped it being a Chinese 1-2-3 with his bronze in 31.43s.
