Applegate wins gold in S14 200m freestyle

Jessica-Jane Applegate has won gold for Great Britain in the S14 200m freestyle after a storming finish.

In the final stretch the battle was between Applegate and Taylor Corry of Australia, but the Brit went through with a Paralympic record of 2:12.63.

Taylor's time of 2:13.18 won her silver and Marlou van der Kulk edged out the rest to claim bronze with 2:14.80.

Natalie Massey was GB's other competitor and she finished sixth in a time of 2:15.35.
