Team GB swimmers will not be at Friday's London 2012 opening ceremony in order to focus on their preparations for the Games.

The swimmers representing Great Britain will not be in attendance at the opening ceremony in London on Friday to mark the start of the Olympic Games.

There were reports that half of Team GB would not appear at the historic ceremony due to preparations for their respective events.

The swim team have confirmed that the ceremony, which is due to begin at 7pm on Friday, will hamper their training.

Meanwhile, border staff have confirmed that tomorrow's planned strike at Heathrow Airport has been called off following peace talks.
