GB's Jazz Carlin comfortably through to 800m freestyle final at Europeans

Great Britain's Jazz Carlin comfortably secures a place in the final of the women's 800m freestyle by finishing fastest at the European Championships in Berlin.

Great Britain's Jazz Carlin has eased her way into the final of the 800m freestyle at the European Aquatics Championships in Berlin.

The Welsh athlete, who won gold in this event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, finished 2.5 seconds faster than the other swimmers in the field.

The 23-year-old finished her heat in 8:22.70, while Spain's Mireia Garcia Belmonte came second behind Carlin in a time of 8:25.22.

Meanwhile, Carlin's fellow Brits Ross Murdoch and Andrew Willis have qualified for the men's 200m breaststroke final.
