Great Britain fail to win medal in women's 100m breaststroke final

Great Britain's Layla Black and Emma Cain miss out on a medal in the women's 100m breaststroke final at the European Games.

Great Britain's Layla Black has narrowly missed out on winning a medal in the women's 100m breaststroke final at the European Games.

Black reached the halfway point in fifth place, and although she moved up the field in the final 50m, she had to settle for fourth position.

British teammate Emma Cain finished behind Black in fifth place in a race which was won by Russia's Maria Astashkina.

Astashkina's compatriot Daria Chikunova claimed the bronze, while Italy's Giulia Verona secured the silver medal.
