Team GB's Stephens sixth in 50m butterfly final

Great Britain's Laura Stephens has finished in sixth place in the women's 50m butterfly final at the European Games.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, the 16-year-old had sneaked through her semi-final to give herself the chance to challenge for a medal.

However, she finished 0.3 seconds adrift of the top three, with Russian Federation representative Polina Egorova storming to gold.

Austria's Caroline Pilhatsch finished in second position, while Julie Jensen of Denmark came home in third.
