British hopeful dominates backstroke heats

Team GB's Luke Greenbank comfortably finished first in qualifying for the semi-finals of the 200m backstroke at the European Games this morning.

Greenbank, who won gold in yesterday's 100m backstroke final, clocked a time of 1:59.06 to win his heat.

The Briton's nearest challenger was almost two seconds back, with Russia's Roman Larin finishing in a time of 2:01.00.

There was more joy for Great Britain, as Joe Hulme put in a strong performance to record the fourth-fastest time (2:01.11) in qualifying.

However, as only two swimmers from each nation can qualify, Joe Litchfield (2:03.71) did not make it past the heats despite finishing 13th overall.
