Michael Jamieson second in breaststroke heat

Scottish swimmer Ross Murdoch sets a new Commonwealth Games record to beat compatriot Michael Jamieson in their 200m breaststroke heat.

Scotland's Michael Jamieson has finished second in his 200m breaststroke heat at the Commonwealth Games, losing out to compatriot Ross Murdoch.

The 20-year-old posted a time of 2:08.78, setting a new Games record and beating the Olympic silver medallist by almost two seconds.

Calum Tait completed an all-Scottish top three in their heat, with the trio also setting the top three times overall to ensure that they all progress.

The final is due to take place this evening.
