Polina Egorova takes another gold for Russia in swimming by winning the 200m backstroke at the European Games.

Polina Egorova prolonged Russia's dominance at the Aquatic Centre today by winning gold in the 200m backstroke at the European Games.

The 15-year-old set a Games record 2:11.23 to beat German Maxine Wolters by just 0.15s in a thrilling conclusion to the race.

Ukraine's Maryna Kolesnykova won bronze in a time of 2:11.91 - 0.68s behind her Russian counterpart.

Further back, Rebecca Sherwin of Great Britain finished seventh with a time of 2:17.00.

It was Russia's 14th medal in swimming thus far.
