Natalia Ishchenko claims synchronised swimming solo free final gold in Kazan

Natalia Ishchenko of Russia has won gold in the synchronised swimming solo free final at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan.

The three-time Olympic champion claimed first place on Wednesday with a routine that scored a total of 97.23.

Ishchenko, 29, is the oldest ever winner of the event, having taken that record from Virginie Dedieu of France.

China's Huang Xuechen took the silver medal with a score of 97.70, while Ona Carbonell Ballestero of Spain clinched bronze after scoring 94.90.
