Michael Phelps targets April return

Bob Bowman has said that Michael Phelps is planning to return from his suspension in April.

The 18-time Olympic gold medallist was banned by USA Swimming from competitive swimming for six months, after he was arrested and charged with drink driving last October.

His long-term coach Bowman has confirmed to USA Today that the swimmer will participate in the Arena Pro Swim Series event in Mesa, Ariz, which takes place from April 15-18.

However, Phelps will not be eligible to compete in the 2015 World Championships in Russia this August.
