Guy sets British freestyle record

James Guy has set a new British record in qualifying for the final of the 400m freestyle at the World Short Course Championships.

The 19-year-old booked his place in the final with a time of 3:39.58 in Doha.

He beat the previous record of 3:40.22 that was set by Robbie Renwick in 2008.

Freestyle and butterfly specialist Fran Halsall was forced to withdraw due to a shoulder problem.
