England's Nick Matthew grabs record-breaking seventh national title

English squash player Nick Matthew has put himself in the record books by winning a seventh national title in Manchester.

The 33-year-old overtook Cassie Jackman's record of six wins with an 11-5 11-3 11-2 triumph over Daryl Selby.

"To beat her record was a massive goal of mine and it makes me feel young again," Matthew told BBC Sport.

Jackman retired in 2004.
