Four-time UK Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan was knocked out of the competition by Judd Trump this afternoon.
Trump, 22, matched O'Sullivan frame-for-frame, taking the contest into a deciding 11th frame.
The world number seven went on to win the next frame to record a 6-5 victory and progress through to the final eight at the Barbican.
Trump had previously never been beyond round two of the tournament until this year.
