Ronnie O'Sullivan wins fifth Masters title

Ronnie O'Sullivan defeats Mark Selby 10-4 in the final at Alexandra Palace to win his fifth Masters title.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has won his fifth Masters title by defeating Mark Selby in the final at Alexandra Palace.

The 'Rocket' raced into a 7-1 lead in the opening session, before winning three of the next six frames this evening to see off Selby 10-4.

O'Sullivan has been in unstoppable form all week, with his quarter-final whitewash over Ricky Walden being described as one of the finest performances in snooker history.

Selby was expected to offer a tougher test in the final, but O'Sullivan stormed into an early lead which the Leicester-born player couldn't pull back, paving the way for another major title for the 32-year-old to add to his collection.
